As part of the launching of the ISO publication on national standardization strategies (NSS) and its translations into French and Spanish, ISO is inviting all interested members and stakeholders to join one of the following webinars provided to different regions in different languages on “why a national standardization strategy matters”. In this webinar, you will hear from experts the importance for a national standardization body (NSB) of having an NSS, what it requires and its benefits.

Daniel Massó currently works as Head of Knowledge and Education in the Spanish Association for Standardization (UNE). 

After a couple of years in Finland and Spain working as a researcher and consultant in the environmental and energy field, in 2001 he joined the Spanish Association for Standardization, initially as a standardization technician and since 2003 as head of service in different areas. He is currently responsible for the educational strategy on standardization and for the management and implementation of courses in this area, also developing new products and services linked to standardization. Additionally, he acts as secretary and as a support technician in various European (CEN) and international (ISO) standardization committees. He has also participated as an expert in various international cooperation projects, especially in Latin America and has been involved in some R & D & I projects.

Mr. Massó is a Senior Forestry Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and is currently resuming his doctoral studies.

Patrick Micheli joined the ISO CS and the Capacity building unit 2 years ago, where he took over the national standardization strategies programme.

Before ISO, Patrick has been working in capacity building and technical assistance units for different United Nations organizations in Geneva and in Benin.

 Nesreen Al-Khammash is a Programme Manager at the ISO capacity building unit. Nesreen holds a BSc Chemical Engineering degree from the prestigious Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST). 

She is an experienced international development manager with experience working in over 30 countries around the world. In addition, she is a strong advocate for national quality infrastructure and conformity assessment, with sound knowledge of the WTO-TBT Agreement and Good Standardization Practices.

Before joining ISO, she worked for the industry sector in Jordan, the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO) as well as a senior expert in some funded technical assistance projects that aimed to strengthen the standardization systems of the national standards bodies to support the achievement of many of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as well as to facilitate access to global markets.

Adrian Goh oversees the ISO Asia Regional Engagement Initiative Asia Office, which supports 27 members in the Asia Pacific region.  He had been involved in a number of regional standardization meetings to support regional harmonization initiatives and capacity building initiatives such as the national standardization strategies workshop.

Adrian has been actively involved in international and regional standardization activities for more than 15 years - both in his current role as Asia Regional Engagement Director and past experiences as Co-Chair of PASC Working Group on Capacity Building and Trade Facilitation and Co-Chair of ASEAN Working Group on Harmonisation of Standards and Mutual Recognition Arrangements.
