Moderator
Patrick is the co-founder of the Global Strategic Initiatives Group, an impact-driven consultancy that works with the international community to develop innovative, ambitious and pragmatic solutions to global challenges. Previously, Patrick worked for the Australian Government, the United Nations, and—most recently—as an independent consultant. He is also the Head of Strategic Partnerships at the Institute for Global Negotiation, and a Senior Legal Consultant at Lexbridge Lawyers. Patrick has moderated previous workshops related to conformity assessment and digitalization.
Speakers
Jérôme holds a Master’s degree in Physics and an MBA, both from the University of Strasbourg. Before joining the Ministry of the Economy of Luxembourg in 2018, he worked for 15 years in the electronics industry. He works at the Directorate General for Industry, New Technologies, and Research, where he is in charge of circular economy, cleantech and smart cities, and leading the Product Circularity Data Sheet Initiative. Since April 2021, he has been the editor of ISO 59040, Circular economy — Product circularity data sheet, and the Convenor of ISO/TC 323/WG 5, responsible for the new standard on the Product Circularity Data Sheet.
Katharina is Policy Manager at the Forum on Information and Democracy, where she notably leads policy analysis and the development of policy recommendations. She has co-authored a report on setting democratic rules for artificial intelligence (AI as a Public Good). This report inspired the development of a concept for a potential voluntary certification mechanism for public interest AI. She is currently further exploring the creation of such a mechanism. Previously, Katharina worked as the Vice-Director of the French citizen participation association Décider ensemble and as a policy analyst on open government issues at the OECD.
Isaac began his career working and campaigning in local climate policy in Metro Vancouver, managing volunteers and working on campaigns to support Vancouver's low-emission buildings policy and introducing an annual measuring and reporting system across Metro Vancouver. For the past three and a half years, Isaac has worked at Climate Emergency UK, overseeing the creation of the Climate Action Plan Checklist, Council Climate Plan Scorecards and then the Action Scorecards—the only UK-wide assessments of councils’ climate plans and actions.
